So many of the articles in Slate, etc are written by people who’ve decided that if at least three of their friends have done the same thing, that equals a worldwide trend (and not just a coincidence, or something relevant to rich New Yorkers only). Jong’s daughter doing one thing or another isn’t evidence of a problem with society. And as Hills points out, it’s not even evidence of a problem with Jong’s daughter.
